We’re building a spectacular new art gallery and making changes online.
The Arts Te Papa website will be shutting down soon, but head to Collections Online to find your favourite works from New Zealand’s national art collection.

Andy Warhol (1928–87) was one of the 20th century’s most influential artists. In his screen prints, films, and photographs, he explored beauty and celebrity, identity and artifice, and the profound impact of popular culture.
To mark the recent Warhol: Immortal exhibition (closed 25 August 2013), Up Front presents three contemporary New Zealand artists whose work responds to Warhol’s legacy in some way. Whether pushing the boundaries of photography and film, probing portraiture and representation, or exploring consumer culture, these works show us that an artist as American as Campbell’s soup still has something to say to us in 21st-century Aotearoa.
